Too little exercise can make you ill. The possible consequences are back pain, obesity, or cardiovascular diseases (e.g. heart attack). You should therefore exercise for at least half an hour every day, by walking fast, cycling, swimming, jogging, gardening or doing housework. The 30 minutes can be divided into 10 minutes three times per day. Take the stairs instead of using the lift or escalator as an easy way to build exercise into your day.
It is quite important for children to exercise for at least one hour per day too. This is why PE lessons at school are important. Children do more exercise if they take regular part in a sports club, such as a football club.
