Children in Grisons are generally taught the following subjects: German (Romansh in Romansh-speaking communities and Italian in Italian-speaking communities; there are also communities where two languages are spoken and taught in schools), maths, a second cantonal language (Italian, Romansh or German, depending on the community), science, writing, physical education, music, art/design, design and technology, English and religion. Many teachers regularly hold discussions with the whole class (class council).
